Anyone have recommendations on a good place to stay in the French Quarter? Going in end of Feb/early March.

We stayed at Le Pavillion and it was beyond incredible! Not in the French Quarter but extremely close to it with transportation to the Quarter by Hansom Cab. Outstanding!

As a New Orleans native, if you want in the Quarter, the Royal Sonesta. Edge of the FQ, Sheraton on Canal st. The Hilton Riverside is a great choice if you need parking. You can use the Red Car to get to Jackson Square etc. Please be careful! NOLA has a high crime rate in some areas. The Quarter has been having problems after 10 pm so don’t go wandering around in non tourist areas.

My family and I are going to New Orleans (my first time there) the first week in July. We will be staying at the Wyndham Avenue Plaza on St. Charles Avenue - about 15 minutes from the French Quarter by streetcar. What are some must-go-to places with children?

The aquarium is a great place for kids. If you do want to explore the French Quarter, going during the day is much better with kiddos. We like taking the St Charles streetcar out to the Audubon park and zoo. You can also do a swamp tour to see the alligators and such.

As owners, we've stayed at Avenue Plaza twice and quite enjoy it. There are several restaurants within walking distance on St Charles but it's still very quiet. Definitely participate in the crawfish boil at the resort if they still have it.

Thank you so much. I contacted the resort, and they said that they have a jambalaya meal on Monday's, and a complimentary breakfast on Tuesday's. They didn't say anything about a crawfish boil. I am disappointed that the largest room is a one bedroom, but the kiddos can just sleep on the pull out. What are some of the other resorts you have been to, that are musts for your family? We went to National Harbor, Bonnet Creek, and Wisconsin Dells (which is also our home resort).

The World War 2 Museum was really awesome. I also highly suggest taking a swamp tour. It was the funnest part of the trip, in my opinion. I plan to go back again some day, if not even move there. Love the area.
