Hi all! My name is Tyson, I'm new to Mayo in Rochester. I'll be coming in August - The struggle is real in finding housing in Rochester.

Hi Tyson. I'm Tammy. I'm in the same boat. I have 3 pages of listings I have contacted & have been waitlisted. I start Aug but have to come in late July to get Occ Health & HR stuff done. I work nights so I've been trying to find a decently quiet place.
I was looking at the Berkman & it is pricey. Someone said to try looking for a roommate because a 2B split would be cheaper. People message me as interested then never follow up.
I've been on multiple roommate & housing sites.
Now, I've contacted private rentals hoping to hear back.
I'll be at st mary's campus.

The most helpful I've found is BlackSwan living -- they seem to have a monopoly on the rental market. I've been working with this guy name Justin there, he's been super helpful, so I know there is hope.

Would you like his contact info? He'll take your dates you are looking at moving, and look at what he has available at that time.

I am also moving around the same time to Rochester and will be working at St Mary's Campus. Are you interested in splitting the Berkman 2Bd apartment?

I'm good, I really appreciate the offer though! @metam are you interested in this opportunity for a 2bd split at the Berkman? I know you said you were thinking about it, but it was a little to expensive. Wonder if the split would help.

Hi Tyson - not sure what your budget is and what you’re looking for specifically but there are loads of apartment complexes here. I found it somewhat difficult to find info online but once I got here I see more. I’m not super familiar with Rochester yet but you may have luck with looking on Google maps or something and then calling apartment complexes for availability rather than looking for rental listings. That being said I have no idea what the market is like this summer. Hope you’re able to find something!
