Hello! My name is Abby and I am from Sleepy Eye, MN. I graduated from South Dakota State University (Brookings) in December of 2024. I am now working in the PCU in Mankato! I started in late February. In my free time I enjoy traveling, cooking, baking, crafting, reading, and shopping. I am super excited to become a true nurse!

Hi everyone! My name is Kaylie, and I’m thrilled to be starting in the Nurse Residency Program here at Mayo Clinic. I’m originally from the south-west of the Twin Cities and graduated with my BSN from St. Catherine University in December 2024. I’ll be joining the Adult Hematology/Oncology unit, and my first day is 5/5/25.

I have a background as a CNA working for 2.5 years in Assisted Living and then 6 years across various units at Children’s Minnesota, including Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Specialty Surgery, and Emergency Department. I’m passionate about oncology nursing and truly honored to begin my career at an institution as exceptional as Mayo.

Outside of work, I love staying active—snowboarding in the winter, spending time on the lake in the summer, and exploring new food spots year-round. I’m so excited to meet all of you and grow together in this new chapter!

Hello! My name is Sanya and I am starting in the pediatric cardiac surgical ICU in March! I am so excited to learn from so many amazing nurses and start working with children. I am originally from St. Paul, but went to school in Chicago for my undergrad, and in Atlanta (Emory SON) for my graduate degree. I graduate in 11 days, and looking forward to moving back to MN. I would love to connect with other nurses starting in 2025! Feel free to follow me on ig - @sanyaholm
I enjoy hiking, running, lifting, swimming, walks, hot black coffee, painting, and going to church. Pretty much anything new and creative or outdoors. Looking forward to meeting many new people and starting our nursing journeys together. 🙂

Any recommendations on how to find housing in Rochester ? New nurse moving to Rochester soon … Thanks Mar

Hi Mar,
You could try reaching out to the placement office to see if they have recommendations. There is also a new employee group on this site that you could ask. Once you start there is an internal page where employees post to find roommates or to rent out houses, etc, but I don't think you can access that until you are actually here. Does anyone else on this page have suggestions?
Thanks,
Catherine

Welcome to Mayo Clinic, Kaylie! Your work as a CNA will be so helpful as you transition into your new role. Heme/Onc is a great place to work, I think you will really love it. See you in class!

Hi everyone, I'm Hannah. I'm from Maple Grove Minnesota! I went to school at Concordia University, Saint Paul and graduated with my BSN last December of 2024. I then passed the NCLEX in January of 2025 and started my RN role at Mayo in February. Last summer, I previously worked at Mayo as a Nurse Technician in Family Medicine. Now I am working in Acute Surgical Services in the Eisenberg building!
