My family and I are going to New Orleans (my first time there) the first week in July. We will be staying at the Wyndham Avenue Plaza on St. Charles Avenue – about 15 minutes from the French Quarter by streetcar. What are some must-go-to places with children?

The aquarium is a great place for kids. If you do want to explore the French Quarter, going during the day is much better with kiddos. We like taking the St Charles streetcar out to the Audubon park and zoo. You can also do a swamp tour to see the alligators and such.

As owners, we've stayed at Avenue Plaza twice and quite enjoy it. There are several restaurants within walking distance on St Charles but it's still very quiet. Definitely participate in the crawfish boil at the resort if they still have it.

The World War 2 Museum was really awesome. I also highly suggest taking a swamp tour. It was the funnest part of the trip, in my opinion. I plan to go back again some day, if not even move there. Love the area.
