Minnesota Cabin Stay
We are looking to do our first Minnesota cabin stay and need some guidance! Although a bit of recreation (boating and little tubing), we are mostly interested in kayaking, canoeing, swimming, exploring, campfires, etc. Remote is okay with us but still want clean, indoor plumbing, and a kitchen. Any favorite lakes or cabins that you might recommend?

How many in the group? How far are you willing to travel?
Do you want to stay in MN? Hayward, WI is not that far and there are many resorts with access to many lakes. Plenty to do on the water and most resorts have boat, canoe, and other rentals.
@bjs03 Wisconsin is an option, but were initially thinking Minnesota. Good suggestion that might open up some new options.
@kelly62 it would be 2 families of 4
The Mayo Classifieds often have cabins for rent both in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
If you are looking for family friendly in northern Wisconsin, I would recommend Top 'o the Morn, near Iron River. You might want to try the Delta Diner while in the area as well. http://www.topothemorn.com/ and http://www.deltadiner.com/
