If you're open to options beyond Rochester ... when we moved to the area 2.5 years ago, we first looked in Rochester, but the market was limited and we couldn't find what we wanted, so we looked at the surrounding, smaller communities. There are bussing options to and from many of communities around Rochester.

Is there any local Facebook groups or websites that I should check while looking for housing? I have just been looking at Zillow and Trulia.

Welcome to Jax, @tmgathings! I moved here in January from Alaska. Are you looking for a place with a yard for your dog or just a place that allows dogs? 2br? When do you get to town? Do you get a house hunting trip?

Yes you do get a house hunting trip. Contact HR for the details. I used a property manager. His name is George and he works for Hover Girl Properties. He was wonderful! Tell him Theresa sent you.

@tmgathings was this message for me? I can't tell bc it's on the next page. I already moved in January, but might actually have to move again though due to a leak/mold issue. Wasn't sure if everyone got house hunting trips. So I take it you found a place. Welcome to Jax! Will you be missing the mountains?

@allymcbeal1218 if you're looking for a house I'd recommend searching on rently.com, Zillow.com, or craigslist.com, or find a realtor. Apartments.com is good for finding all the apartment rentals in the area. Where are you moving from? Welcome!
