New Remote Worker : "Howdy Y'all!"
Wanting to say hi to my new Mayo family! Just joined the team this week. I'm a remote worker down in Texas. So how has everyone's first few week's been? Any advice you'd pass on?

I've never been to TN but hope to visit there with Mayo one day. What type of work are you doing remote? Besides all the orientation videos, that is! LOL
Mayo does not have a Facility here. I am full remote. Like you working on a lot of video training 🙂

Hi @enmiller ! It's been great and very well done. As a remote worker, I wasn't sure what to expect but I have been pleasantly surprised. Though the amount of info is like taking a drink from a firehose, I know it'll sink in with time and patience. What work are you doing remote?
I haven’t started training yet, just going through the paperwork. My first day is the 25th. I am going to be working as a patient account rep. What are you doing?
Oh, I gotcha! 😊 How amazing to work with the patients and their families! I am trained as a lab tech, so I have never had much interaction with patients other than when performing phlebotomy or going on codes. Most of my day was spent doing specimen testing. Since I am still learning what the different types of roles are, can you help me understand what a patient account rep does?
I will be working in the Lab Outreach department, helping current Mayo hospital customers (those hospital labs that use us for their reference lab) become their own reference lab for smaller clinics/offices/hospitals near them. I was a lab director before coming here so I have been on the other side and it's been fun to peek behind the curtain.
