New to Mayo Phoenix

Posted by Abby Wagner @abbydwag, Aug 17, 2022

Hey everyone! My fiance, Brandon, and I just moved from Rochester, MN to Phoenix, AZ this week. We are hoping to make some new friends in the area! We love going out to eat, swimming, hiking, going to the movies, and wineries.
If anyone wants to meet up, feel free to shoot a message! We're down for adventuring and exploring our new area!

Hi Abby! I moved from Phoenix to RST last year but still visit AZ often. Feel free to message me, I can help you out a little bit with Phx geography!

Hello and welcome to Phoenix AZ.

I moved to Phoenix a month ago and would be interested as well!

When is a good time for you?

My daughter lives in Phoenix and loves to do all those things. Her boyfriend is injured currently but she loves hiking and knows some great spots. She’s always looking for new friends. Let me know if you wanna talk to her.

Depends where you want to check things out. Phoenix or Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa etc. entertainment or food? The art district has amazing food. You really can’t go wrong there.

For great food try “AZ Wilderness “ they have an amazing peanut butter burger, duck fat fries, and my favorite tractor brand of delicious sodas. All their condiments are homemade as well. If you want a gourmet meal and love tacos, try the Taco Guild. It is in an old church and has live entertainment on weekends. So unique the tacos are some of the best you will ever have. If you like fast food but made in house Taco Boys is cheap but uses quality meats. Their refried beans are the best!

Welcome to AZ! I also moved here recently. If your fiance likes building things or going to breweries I'd love to show him around.

it's early October now, I hope you and your guy have gotten settled in. I hope the summer heat wasn't too brutal, we got lucky this year and it seems to have ended by early October.

I am a new hire and start 10/24, lived in the Valley nearly my entire life. I am so grateful for this incredible opportunity to be part of the Mayo team! If any of you folks new to town (or not!) are hikers and would like to explore some of the great hiking opportunities in and around Phoenix, feel free to message me. I do South Mountain's trails pretty regularly but I'm open to any of the other city parks hiking opportunities as well such as Camelback, Piestewa Peak, and the rest of the Mountain Preserve. Now that the heat is over (touch wood), I'm looking forward to doing hikes a bit out of town such as the Superstitions and perhaps even Humphrey's Peak as well with some hardy hikers.
