Best Walking Shoes – My Second Post After More Research as a Doctor
Hi everyone,
This is my second post here, and once again I’m writing from both personal interest and professional experience. I’ve been a doctor for over 20 years, and footwear is something I take seriously because I’ve seen firsthand how much improper shoes can contribute to foot pain, knee problems, and even back issues.
While doing my usual research reading medical articles, checking orthopedic recommendations, and going through thousands of real customer reviews I also came across a product reviewer I’ve come to trust deeply over the years. This person isn’t flashy, just consistent, thorough, and honest in their testing. Every time I’ve tried something they recommend, it’s been worth it.
I’ve narrowed it down to two walking shoes that stand out for comfort, support, and durability:
Skechers GOwalk Max (https://amzn.to/41Iz7Gm) – Extremely lightweight, with responsive cushioning that feels great for long daily walks.
New Balance 928v3 (https://amzn.to/4163ma8) – A sturdier, supportive option ideal for those who need stability and motion control.
I’m not promoting anything here — these are simply the ones that scored highest on my checklist and also earned praise from that trusted reviewer. Personally, I think the Skechers might suit casual walkers better, while the New Balance could be perfect for people with overpronation or chronic foot pain.
If anyone here has experience with either pair over months or years, I’d love to know how they hold up. Do they keep their comfort and structure after a lot of use?
Your input will help me finalize my recommendation not just for myself, but for some of my patients as well.
