Considering MSN project on lactation support as retention strategy
Hello all, just joined this group/just found out it exists. 🙂 I am thinking of topics for an MSN thesis project around how feeling supported as a lactating family can positively influence nurses' intent to stay in their positions. In just chatting with some nurses at one particular MCHS site, it appeared there is need for improvement, but a nurse at another site (one of the DMCs) did not think it was an issue.
So tell me: If you OR your partner are a Mayo Clinic nurse who is lactating or has been in the past 5 or so years, do you perceive gaps in feeling supported in this critical stage in your family's life? I'm not looking so much for stories YET, just assessing whether this is something worth looking into for my MSN project.

I know this post is old, but I have run into some frustrations. I wish there was an app or something us lactating moms had that showed all of the lactation rooms and allowed us to sign in and sign out because multiple times a week, multiple times a day I have had to go to multiple different locations to find an open room. This wastes a lot of time and takes extra time away from the desk.
