Going green in Rochester

Hello! I just arrived to Rochester and I will spend 4 months here. I usually have an eco-friendly lifestyle back home but I am finding it difficult to be green here (plastic is everywhere!). Does anyone have any advice for me, going from less impacting stores to small lifestyle changes? Thank you!
