Hello fellow travel enthusiasts~
I am planning a vacation to Glacier National Park in early September with my husband and two adult daughters. We have our Amtrak tickets to East Glacier Park and a rental car. I am in the process of booking accommodations. If anyone has suggestions, that would be great! We prefer to stay away from the most touristy areas. We have decided to do day hikes and are looking forward to showers and beds, so no camping under the stars for this trip. Any suggestions?

I love Glacier! It's been a few years since we've been there, so no specific names come to mind, but I'll see if I have anything written down still. Pack your bear spray and bells 🙂
What a great trip you get to experience, @cathyp! I hope you enjoy it. I have spent MANY trips on Amtrak! I am from NE Montana. When I was growing up, I went west on Amtrak and right through East Glacier many times. Through my college years and beyond, I came east through North Dakota to Minnesota. Are you card players? You may want to bring a deck or two for the long days of travel. Thankfully, someone else gets to do all the work to get you there. 🙂 Enjoy yourselves!
