Welcome to the Travel group - Introduce Yourself!
Welcome to the Travel group on Mayo Clinic Town Square.
This is a fun place where you can meet others who love to travel. We can connect and share travel stories, ask for recommendations for where to stop while in various travel destinations, and even learn about new places that you can add to your travel wish list. This is an open forum for all kinds of connections and conversations.
My name is Treasure Ransom. My family and I love to travel. Our current mission is to get to all of the major league baseball parks. Some of my favorite trips have been when traveling with my college choir to 8 European countries, cruising to the Mexican Riviera and to Alaska, spending time in Hawaii, New York City, Washington D.C., and most recently, to California to experience all five of their MLB baseball parks. I can't wait to participate in conversations with you all and learn about some exciting places we need to visit.
Let's chat. Why not start by briefly introducing yourself here and by starting a new discussion specific to your travel interests?

We actually have been to Cooperstown, but it was probably about 5 or 6 years ago. We think my younger son may play in a tournament up there next summer, so we will hopefully go back at that point. We went to the NBA Hall of Fame a few weeks ago in Springfield, MA. It was nice, but very small. I would only recommend if you happen to be in that area, don't make a trip just to see it. Older son wants to get to NHL Hall of Fame in Toronto this summer, hopefully catch a Blue Jays game while we are there!

I love Glacier! It's been a few years since we've been there, so no specific names come to mind, but I'll see if I have anything written down still. Pack your bear spray and bells 🙂
Hi all, my name is Deb and I am a teleworker outside of Rochester, MN. My husband and I have been fortunate to be able to travel to many parts of the USA and Canada. I have been on 6 cruises since 2014 and have 7 booked through 2019 so I guess you could say I love cruising. We also own 2 timeshares, 1 in Hawaii and 1 at Breezy Point Resort in MN. I would be very interest in tips and tricks of getting airfare at the lowest rate. Seems to be quite a game lately. We are also tandem cyclists with the goal of biking in all 50 states in the U.S. We have 4 more states left which we will be able to complete in 2019 when on a Pacific Coastal cruise. Might have to look for another goal.
Hi, I'm Steve
We go on yearly cruises. We also travel all around the US. Places that we go to on a yearly basis include Chicago, Louisville, Racine (Wisconsin), and Winnipeg. Lately, we've also been going to Los Angeles on a regular basis--specifically to attend tapings of The Big Bang Theory. We then go on several weekend trips throughout the year and one or two other vacations throughout the year.
Hi Steve. Where do you cruises take you? Love the Big Bang Theory. Travel rules!
Typically to the Caribbean, though we have been to the Mediterranean (Venice, Dubrovnik, Athens, Turkey, Sicily, Naples, Rome, Florence, Pisa, Marseilles, Barcelona), a New England/Canada cruise, an Alaskan cruise, western Mexico....we've done many of the common Caribbean islands as well as Belize, Roatan, Costa Rica, and Panama as well. We've done 13 in total so far, but we started in 2007.
We have a few Eastern, Western and a Southern Caribbean booked. Will be taking our daughter, son-in-law and 2 granddaughters on Harmony of the Seas for a 7-day Eastern Caribbean in January. The grand kids have never flown or cruised. Ports of call are suppose to be St. Maarten, San Juan and Labadee. Not sure we will be able to experience St. Maarten but did hear Royal will have a ship returning Nov 5.
Hi! I'm Leann
We love to travel as a family (two sons ages 15 & 21) and my husband and I. We have traveled within the U.S.: East (Hershey, PA, NYC, Washington DC), West to Yellowstone, Montana, Jackson Hole, WY, South Dakota, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Florida, California (San Diego and LA) and Washington (Seattle). Outside the U.S.: Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Costa Rica, Europe. We would love to explore areas we haven't been -- Carolinas, Northeast, Texas, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, more Caribbean Islands. I look forward to learning more from this group and gaining great insights! If I can aid in others' plans, I would love to assist. Thank you!
We are headed to Costa Rica for the first time this February with a group of 10 adults. Do you have any "must sees" that I should inquire about?
