Question about Mayo West Shuttle Lot

Posted by webber @webber, Aug 28, 2019

I leased an apartment nearish the Mayo West Shuttle Lot, and heard that there may be free shuttles for employees from there to downtown. I was having trouble finding more detailed information online so thought I’d ask here to confirm whether this is true? Can any employee take this shuttle by showing Mayo identification or is any other pass needed...? Also, would anyone happen to know whether the shuttle is ever overcrowded such that you can’t get on? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Hello! I lived in a complex next to the West lot until very recently. You absolutely can walk over and ride the shuttles to both St Marys and to downtown. You only need your badge to ride. They run very often in the busy morning and afternoon hours so even if one is full, you can catch the next one within 5-15 minutes. Usually that is not necessary as you can stand on them when the seats are full. This is more of an issue on the return trip at the end of the day, in my experience.
