Getting to work/ Shuttle Q's

Posted by alexisruetten @alexisruetten, Jul 5, 2020

My apartment complex in Rochester has a shuttle running from the complex to Mayo, but I'm just curious what other people do if they don't have that option or if the hours the shuttle runs don't work for a shift I'm on. Would it be a good idea to get a short term city bus pass in the case of that scenario? I'm new to the area, so any help is appreciated!

Mayo provides employees with city bus passes! Inquire at the parking office. After 130 employees can park in any lot or ramp.

Hi! I just moved to Rochester recently and had the same question. I went to the card services and called Rochester Public Transit and found that the bus fares are free indefinitely (due to COVID). But once the free fares end they are still free to employees. I also reached out to the transit company to better understand the routes to and from DT and St. Mary's since their website it a little confusing. The route numbers and stops are totally changing this Sunday (8/16) due to the Rebuild Plan. Here is a link to the new routes: https://www.rochestermn.gov/departments/public-transportation/how-to-get-around/bus-schedule-and-system-maps. Also if you call them they are very helpful and can tell you which routes to take! I hope this helps 🙂

Hello! So I took the transit on Friday to St.marys to make sure I knew what I was doing! I was unaware of the changes happening tomorrow though. What number did you call to get this information? The map is slightly confusing!

I agree, the maps are confusing. I called: 507-328-RIDE (7433), and they were very helpful!

Hey guys. I am disabled (with difficulty to walk) and I am wondering if the shuttle leaves you close to the entrance or is it necessary to walk long distance? Thanks in advance!
