Nursing license

Hi! I graduated this May and moved to MN from WI. I am still waiting for my ATT to take the NCLEX in MN and am supposed to start working July 5th. Does anybody know if as a new grad you can start working prior to getting your license? Or would they likely put off your start date until you get your license. Thanks!

I'm in this exact situation - applying from WI and still waiting for ATT. I start July 19. Wondering if anybody ended up getting their ATT yet or confirmation you can start as a nurse tech? Thanks😊

Hey Zoe! I’m also from Illinois and had the same issue. I went to the town hall and got my fingerprints taken at the Police station there. The women who helped me was very understanding and extremely helpful. I got this done in the same day 🙂 Hope it all gets worked out I know how stressful it can be!!

Hi Maeve! #ILfam Have you heard anything from the background check people / the MN BoN? They said in the steps listed on their website that they would email you when they transmit your fingerprints but it has been a week and I have heard nothing and I'm starting to get fairly worried something has gone amiss. Have you gotten any sort of confirmation that all your background checks and fingerprinting has been sorted out? It is radio silence over here.

As far as start date goes, I let my nurse educator and managers know my situation. They told me not to worry and that there would be something for me to do! Just reach out so they are up to date 🙂 They have been very understanding so far!

I finally got my ATT and tested but I emailed HR before that and they told me I would be hired as a tech if I didn’t get my license prior to my start date
