Accessing Self-Service as a new employee

I am a new employee starting next week, and I'm having troubles accessing Self-Service portal to set up all of the important information, etc. I keep getting message "Error encountered while processing the request…." and the Infor logo.
Is there something I'm doing wrong and what is the best solution here?
