Help me make friends & survive the snow in Rochester
Hi!!
My name is Lauren and I just moved to Rochester from southern California. Just graduated with my BSN this summer and landed in CV PCU as an RN :-). Im looking for tips on how to survive the snow as I've literally never lived in anything colder than 50 and rain a few times a year hahaha. I saw that the avg high in January is 22?? How do yall do anything
Also would love to make some new friends since I'm here a few weeks before I start my job :-). A little about me: I'm in my early 20s and hobbies include: baking, cooking, thrifting, walks, lifting weights, eating healthy, making ice cream, plants, wearing cute outfits, eating out at good restaurants, making yummy coffee at home, traveling (went to Greece and Mexico this summer, next up is Europe in Jan!), & gardening. If you have any of these interests please lmk!!! Or if you have any tips on how to make friends please tell me. When I've gone out, I've BARELY seen ppl my age but maybe yall are just hidden. Also, I just moved in a new place with my bf and would love opinions on decorating and going thrifting to find cool pieces cuz my bf has no opinion on house stuff hahaha.
Thanks <3
P.S. I attached some of my baking and ice cream making 🙂

I'm moving up there in January for a Feb start day-- I'll be in the CV PCU too! Can't say I'm looking forward to the snow :') This native Texan can count the number of times I've seen snow on one hand
Hey! I'm moving to Rochester in January for a Feb. start day as well on Transplant ICU! I'm from Nashville, TN so I get where you're coming from with the snow. We get a little here, but nothing even in comparison to Rochester. I'm nervous about the winters! I also love to travel! I've been to over 20 different countries for past study abroad trips! I was in Rochester this summer for their summer nurse internship and met a ton of people in the program that will be coming back to work! Feel free to DM me if you would like my socials, I'm looking for more friends up there too!! You're ice cream and baking looks AMAZING!!
Hi Haley and Lauren!! I’m also a new grad that will be on the CV/transplant PCU too! Being from Southern Arizona I can definitely relate to the lack of a real winter experience haha. I will be starting next week 😊
Lauren, I will also be needing home stuff for my own place and am (always) down for some shopping! Feel free to add me on Instagram! @ilianamayy
I’ll be there the beginning of November from Florida!! Definitely we should all get together, not an ice cream maker but I love to cook!
Hi Lauren! My name is Maddie and I'm from Minneapolis! 🙂 I just moved down to Rochester in July, but I would love to pass on some advice on how to survive the MN winters lol! It seems like we're interested in a lot of the same activities, I love shopping/thrifting, baking, cooking (I just made risotto for dinner lol), and hiking! I would love to grab coffee sometime or find somewhere to go thrifting in this town! Feel free to reach out whenever!! 🙂
hello!! My name is Rose and i'm in my mid 20s. While born and raised in Minnesota, I am also new to the Rochester area and am looking to meet more people. I thrive in the winter and the majority of my best bulky sweaters are from local thrift stores. I enjoy coffee, baking, adventuring with my dog, and traveling (I just got back from France last month)! Let me know if you want to meet up or perhaps we could even get a small group together for coffee or a drink at one of the local breweries!
Dude your baking game is on point!!
Where in Cali are you from? My brother, sister-in-law, and nephew live in Berkeley.
