Let's Talk Books: Mystery/Thriller/Suspense

Posted by Treasure Ransom @transom, Feb 8, 2018

I am thrilled with the activity in an earlier post – What are you reading? (https://connect.employees.mayo.edu/discussion/what-are-you-reading/)

Let’s get more specific and discuss any recommendations you may have on Mysteries/Thrillers/Suspense Novels you have read.

I’d love to know:
•title
•author
•brief description of why you liked it (no spoilers please) 🙂

I am currently reading my second book by a Minnesota author, Allen Eskens. I loved the first book I read of his:
Title: The Life We Bury
Description: There were so many elements to this book and each brought something special to the story! The characterization of the main and secondary characters involved with the mystery was so well done!

The mystery was also well-written and had an exciting cadence especially in the second half of the book. Even though it took me a bit to get into the story, all of the early pieces were necessary for this story to get to its excellent completion.

Since I liked that so much, I chose to read another - The Deep Dark Descending. Also AMAZING! I will let you know when I finish.

Thanks Treasure. I have both of these on my TO READ shelf in Goodreads!
