Mediterranean Cruise

Thinking of taking a family vacation - with our 2 adult sons (23 and 25). We are considering a Mediterranean Cruise. Would you recommend? What cruise line have you used? What time of year is the best time to go?

We too are thinking about a Mediterranean Cruise but also perhaps a separate land tour. Would be interested in everyone's insights.

It's been a few years since we did our Mediterranean cruise. We went with Carnival (Sunshine) when we did it, but most days were port days so we didn't spend much time on the ship. I don't know if Carnival is currently sailing in the Mediterranean. We went in late October/early November, and we had good weather the whole time. If you're wanting beach weather, it wasn't that warm, but still not bad (low 70s, maybe). I would advise going at least a day early (if not more) to enjoy your embarkation port, as well as planning to stay at least a couple of days afterwards in your debarkation port (assuming it's not a closed loop cruise). The cruise we went with started in Venice and ended in Barcelona, with some more eastern stops. Definitely a fun experience, though port heavy. If you want to see a lot of different places in Europe, with a lot of history, this is a great way to do it.

Whichever cruise line you decide on be sure Santorini is one of the destinations! Amazing island!
