New to Mankato
My daughter and I are moving to Mankato June 1st and Im looking for child care for her while I do my 3 twelve hour shifts a week. Any suggestions? Also Im looking for a private 4k program for her. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it!
Thanks,
Ashley

Thanks for posting, @ashleym59! I am tagging @lindseymarx as someone that could potentially point you in the right direction as she works on the Mankato campus.
Hello @ashleym59 What hours would you need the daycare to be open, to you have a preference of a center vs. home daycare and what exactly are you meaning by 4K program?
Hi @lindseymarx, I recently hired a nanny for over the summer. But I am wondering about the school year. I would like her to go to preschool. I will be working 3 12 hour shifts a week. Is there anything in Mankato that is open to accommodate that? I have heard the Montessori school does preschool and daycare until 530. Anything open longer? Also in Wisconsin we do 4k, which is 4 year old kindergarten.
@ashleym59 I believe Little Star Early Learning Center is open from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. . You will probably have to call for hours because I couldn't find them on their website http://www.mankatolittlestars.com/ . My 11 year old went there from age 2-5 and loved it. They use the Creative Curriculum have a pre-school room so you don't have to worry about having them transported to another site for pre-school.
This site has a list of child care providers in the Mankato area but I think it will be difficult to find one that is open the hours you will need. https://childcarecenter.us/minnesota/mankato_mn_childcare
Welcome Ashley! Lil Bee's Learning Center is locally owned and they are opening their 4th location soon. Feel free to reach out to them to learn more about their daycare offerings.
