Mayo Clinic Diversity & Inclusion Vision is to be recognized by patients, employees, peer institutions, and the community as the leading model for diversity and inclusion. Inclusive language is used throughout this website and is encouraged when discussing lactation with employees, supervisors, and learners. Inclusive language includes, but is not limited to breastfeeding, chest feeding, feeding human milk, and more. Since language and preference are individual, having a conversation around what language individuals prefer will create an open dialogue and inclusion for all individuals at Mayo Clinic. For more information and resources to support inclusion in the workplace or learning environment, please contact the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

For information on pregnancy and lactation and the COVID-19 vaccine, please reference this resource from the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine.
