*Currently, each site has a separate system for managing lactation rooms. The Lactation Workplace Practices Workgroup, formed in July 2019, is working to develop consistent best practices for supporting lactating employees and learners across the enterprise. The Rochester Lactation Space & Equipment Subcommittee, also formed in July 2019, is working to update a system for lactation rooms in Rochester. This subcommittee plans to share new processes and best practices with building subcommittees enterprise-wide. Stay tuned!
Standard lactation room amenities include the following, unless otherwise noted:
- Lock on door
- Chair
- Sink
- Minimal counter space
- Hook on the back of the door or wall
- Paper towel dispenser
- Hand sanitizer
- Soap dispenser
- Wall clock
