Remembering the Franciscan Spirit: the Value of Innovation

Oct 5, 2018 | Treasure Ransom | @transom

The Mayo Clinic Values Council invites you to remember that the spiritual roots of our Mayo founders, Dr. W.W. Mayo and Mother Alfred Moes, OSF are as relevant and important as ever to the care our patients receive.  Today the Mayo/Franciscan Values thrive in an environment that recognizes that spirituality is an integral dimension of compassionate care and healing.

Innovation: Infuse and energize the organization, enhancing the lives of those we serve, through the creative ideas and unique talents of each employee.

Innovation

"As a process rooted profoundly in earth, our human development arises out of our experience of all we encounter during our lives."

∼ “Care of Creation:  Working with the United Nations” by Margaret Pirkl, OSF

"Civilization is rooted in nature, which has shaped human culture and influenced all artistic and scientific achievement, and living in harmony with nature gives (human beings) the best opportunity for the development of their creativity."

∼ World Charter for Nature, promulgated in 1982 by the UN General Assembly
