Hey travelers! Wondering what your BEST vacation EVER was?... I need some inspiration as I start to plan next year's travel budget!

My best vacation ever was the 7 weeks I spent in Europe after graduation. I did two weeks in Bulgaria working with the Balkan Heritage Field School to preserve the frescos in medieval churches. Afterwards, I went to Italy, Romania, Austria, a day trip to the Eagles Nest in Germany, England, Wales, and Ireland. Top two favorite places I visited was the Eagles Nest in Germany, and the Cliffs of Moher on the western coast of Ireland. Breathtaking places and I would definitely go again

One of my favorite trips was to Alaska a few years back. We flew in to Anchorage, got a car and headed up to Talkeetna for a couple of nights. We checked in to a scenic flight around McKinley and landing on a glacier for the next day and they had two openings left for the next morning. Words can not describe how incredibly that was to fly around. Weather was beautiful. We then drove toward the Kenai peninsula. We stayed in Homer Alaska a few nights. Took a half day Halibut fishing trip, husband wasn't a fan because he is not a fisherman, but I had a great time. The next day we had booked last minute a grizzly bear adventure where you fly in to this national park on the coast. They land the planes on the sandy beach and you walk amongst the bears feeding in the fields. That was an adventure of a life time. So incredible and exhilarating as you are in a group with 2 guides/pilots who can have no weapons except marine flairs to run off any rogue bear that gets to close to the group. One did but they manages to scare him away without shooting off the flairs. Got great pictures. We had brown bag lunches in the fields with them. That was a very expensive trip but we managed to get on as standby. He was in one plan and I the other. They had to weight us to make sure we didn't put the planes over weight limit being the last two on. Whew. Recommend that trip to anyone that gets to Alaska. The weather could not have been more cooperative when we were there and almost no bugs. Not what I was expecting after reading up on Alaska. Loved it.

Sorry for the typos. I forgot to mention that we stayed in cabins for most of the trip which added to the experience.

I am a cruiser, so anywhere on a cruise. I did love Seattle when I went too

Puerto Vallarta was my perfect week out of the several trips I had but might just be because the weather was outstanding each and every day.

I would have to vote Atlantis Bahamas. It costs about 2 grand each person for a 1 week stay including flights. The water park is amazing and is fun for both the children that attend as well as the adults. The environment is gorgeous! the people are friendly. The water is warm.
Best vacation I have ever been on...I would share picture but on our last day, we fell off the jet ski and lost the camera with all our captured memories. I NEED to go back 🙂

This past summer, my girlfriend and I went to Spain for a few weeks. We booked it through Intrepid travel, which offered a group tour all over souther Spain. It was nice because unlike most tour groups, which can be rather large, we were only 10 people. Plus there was a mix of scheduled, pre-planned stuff, and plenty of free time to wander and do whatever you want. We went to Madrid, Grenada, Ronda, Seville, Valencia and Barcelona. We ended up taking a day trip to Tangier, Morocco as well, which was amazing.
