childcare

Posted by Kenzie @kenziemgeorge, Nov 27, 2018

Hey,

I am fairly new to Rochester and my husband and I both work at Mayo. We are due to have a baby in June (our first) and are trying to get ahead of the game with finding daycare. Does anybody have any suggestions on daycares, preferably a home daycare, that take infants and are open flexible hours? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Congratulations, @kenziemgeorge! How exciting! I am beyond the childcare need stage of life. My oldest just got his driver's license, so I am dealing with other types of questions. 🙂

I am wondering if there are people in the Surviving Parenthood group, or maybe the Nursing Mothers group (they seem relevant since most of them have babies they are currently nursing and probably very recently had to work through the process of finding childcare) that could help you. Consider asking your question there too.

One other suggestion - there is a site for Olmsted County that may be useful - http://www.fccimn.com/child-care-search.html. It used to be called Child Care Resource and Referral. The link I provided takes you right to a provider directory/search tool. Here is the home page of that site - http://www.fccimn.com/.

Hopefully some of this helps. 🙂
