Getting Things Done (GTD) and Stress-Free Productivity

Posted by Lee Aase @LeeAase, Jan 2, 2019

Last year I was certified through VitalSmarts as a trainer in the David Allen GTD methodology, and we had over 100 staff from Public Affairs go through this training. Has anyone here been using GTD for a while in your work? What has been your experience with it?

I've been using GTD for about 12 years, but I found the course offered through VitalSmarts was really helpful in closing the gap between theory and my actual practice. Still not perfect yet, but I'm getting a lot of benefit from better implementation.

Many years ago, David Allen came to my then-employer (not Mayo) and led a session on the principles that eventually became GTD. I've been using his recommended tools and processes ever since. Would love to take the VitalSmarts course, but I work remotely, not often in Rochester - are there any online options?

I don't think we're going to be licensed to do the training online. I think VitalSmarts is experimenting with having its trainers offer the course online but for now anyway we can't.

Anyone interested in an informal after-work discussion this Wednesday, 6 Feb of GTD principles, favorite efficiency tools/tricks, strategies for overcoming barriers? I am a remote worker and don't get to Rochester very often, but eager to learn from others' experience in this area. @LeeAase @cathyfraser @transom please share with others who might be interested - thanks!

Sorry I won't be able to make it...I am flying out Wednesday evening. I will be sending a note out today or tomorrow in advance of next week's training, and could include a place/time to get together if that would help.
