Well-Being with a Purpose: Week 4

Share with us how this challenge made you feel:

This challenge started the same week my dr’s gave me the thumbs up to exercise after almost 3 months of bed rest followed by a C-section. The first few days were rough, but the challenge helped me to stay motivated and work past the sore muscles. We have 4 kids 2 and under so scheduling my workouts is essential, it helps me to stay on task but also allows my husband to be able to support me and remove barriers to sticking to my plan. I feel the challenge is great from both my team fund but also my well-being to start to get back to my old self and have some time that is just for me. Hope everyone has a fantastic week. Go Team Cancer!

I am grateful for this challenge. It provides me the foundation that I have drifted so far away from. I am appreciating the things that are most important again.

I love how each week starts with setting a SMART goal. I have been listening to a podcast geared at weight loss, and this is helping me get into the habit of focusing on small changes each week that will keep me headed in the direction of my ultimate goal.

Sometimes those nudges seem to come just at the right time! How do you think you will sustain the challenge initiatives?

That is excellent! It is a win win situation. I have exercised 30 min or more each day since the challenge started. I have set the same goal for myself in the past but I did not continue. With this challenge- I am bound and determined to do this for our team. Go team- lets help funding for Cancer treatments and cures.

I am working on integrating another type of workout into my day. I love dance...so I purchased a workout program that allows me the capability to log in on my computer or phone so I can use it anywhere. I will be doing a challenge through that program in September.

tell me more about the program! It sounds like fun...

Fun is key to sustaining an activity! Who wants to keep doing something that seems like a chore! Not me. Yes, tell more about the program you purchased.

It is called Figure 8 by Body Fx. You can search on IE/Chrome for Figure 8 Fitness and get to the site. They have lots of other workout types as well. So if you're not a "dancer" and want something a little difference, look at the main site for Body Fx and click "shop" at the top of the page. You may find something that you love. 🙂 I like this one in particular because you can choose a membership or just buy a particular program.
Other options I have investigated were Fitness Blender and PopSugar Fitness on youtube. There are a large number of different styles of workouts on there as well.
I chose Figure 8 basic in particular because I like the style of dance it uses and it specifically works your core. I want to work my core, but hate doing the traditional core exercises.
