Captain's Orders:
As you set sail and chart your course, be sure to define your goals. You can get lost at sea with a goal that is too big or too far out in the future. Keep it simple and attainable. Define your goal in numbers and think within reach. Refer to the SMART Financial Goals handout to help you get started.

A Zero-Based Budget is the most help to me. Telling my money where to go instead of wondering where it went. I follow Dave Ramsey's financial fitness plan. 🙂

Hey all,
As part of the team working on this challenge, I thought I would let you know that I used one of the tips you will see in the challenge while shopping at Scheel's last night. I asked them if they would price match, and they were happy to do it. I saved $34.82 and walked out feeling like a winner. 🙂

@fayrouz, good morning!
In week 5, we will address the "Spend" category and give examples of how to spend wisely. One of the ideas that we share is comparing prices. I found the items I wanted to purchase and then looked them up on very popular shopping app to see if they were priced less. I simply showed the cashier my phone, he called the manager, she verified the items were the exact same and happily gave approval for the price match. I was able to get expert advice from the store, shop local, and get the lowest price with just an extra minute or two of my time. If my husband wasn't waiting in the car, I might have searched other sites for lower prices too, but I thought $34.82 was a pretty good savings. 🙂

As you participate in the challenge, be sure to look at the "Explore Further" documents. Explore Further documents expand on the action items that were included with the bingo cards. The bingo cards have a shorter, easy to read version.

Hope you enjoy!
Tina

Reduce debt and set myself up for retirement as I am 20-25 years away from it. I want to enjoy my time and not have to feel like I need to work.

Thanks for this challenge! Will be following along and am excited to learn tips/tricks that have worked for others!

Starting small, I want to get at least one BINGO. If I find that is easy to do, maybe I will shoot for a blackout! Regardless, I am going to be more intentional about my financial wellness and I appreciate the work you all put in to make this challenge a reality. I hope to learn many new tips.

Oh, and I LOVE the theme! So clever. 🙂

I have been setting aside $30/week to use for a vacation fund. Due to some unforeseen city issues are property tax assessments got all screwed up and I ending up owing over a $1000 more just for this year. Unfortunately I had to take it out of my vacation fund but feel fortunate that I had been saving for vacation so I at least had it.

How do you actually get the Bingo stamps? Like I got an email this morning and read all the links that were included, and I posted how I was saving money, but how do you do the bingo card? I must be missing something.
