Starting a thread on ideas for keeping the kids busy during the summer. Please share!

I'm particularly interested in ideas for my 7-year-old daughter, in the north Rochester area. She loves doing art and science projects, enjoys reading, and works independently -- though does best with routine and structure. She's probably a good age for day-camps. I'll look at Quarry Hill, and I know there are others too. We'll also sign her up for offerings through our local community ed, as well as swimming lessons. Other recommendations?

Day camps sound like a great idea for your daughter considering her many interests, @sunnihemingsen. Have you checked into library programs that happen during the summer? Our library in Austin does great reading incentive programs and activities during the day.

Yes! Our local library too has a reading program that she's participated in, as well as some other programs throughout the summer. Bonus: It's within walking distance of our house so my oldest can take her there 🙂
