Welcome to Surviving Parenthood!

Here we can connect and share stories, offer tips, encourage each other in this wonderful experience of parenthood. This is truly an open forum for all kinds of connections and conversations.

I’m Amber, and I’m a moderator in this group. I am a mother of 2 boys (5 year old & almost 2 year old). I moved to Rochester 12 years ago with my husband who is a Rochester native. I enjoy connecting with others who are in the middle of the crazy world of parenting.

I look forward to getting to know you and introducing you to other members.

Let’s chat. Why not start by introducing yourself?

Hi, Amber. We have a 13-year-old son and a 7-year-old daughter. My husband and I are navigating life with a teen — always interesting and quite different from when we were kids — and have a hard time keeping up with our daughter’s frequent requests to do projects 🙂 Looking forward to connecting with others here!

Hi! I’m Bobbi. I’ve been married for 12 years and have two kids, a boy and a girl, ages 9 and 11. I feel like I’m living a second (and much better) childhood through them.

Thanks for moderating this group, @ambercaron. I am excited to get tips from others that are also navigating the world of parenting.

I have two boys, ages 15 and almost 12. We have found each stage of life with them to be wonderful. I appreciate what @sunnih said about the life of a teen as this has probably been our toughest challenge yet. We are up for it and hoping to teach valuable lessons and learn some of our own along the way. No one said it was going to be easy and we are blessed to parent two wonderful boys.

I’m so glad this group was started! I have two children, my daughter just turned 12 and my son is 8. They are both great kids but I’m facing some challenges with my son lately that I hope I can find some answers to with other parents in similar life situations/stages!

@tiguer and @bobbi_rasmussen, welcome! I’m looking forward to sharing pre-teen/teen questions and concerns, and will look to @transom for her expertise, having an older child. Not to exclude you, @ambercaron — 2 and 5 are such fun ages; I’d take those for a day any time (but do like the bit of freedom my husband and I are now getting, as the older one can babysit!) 🙂

Hello! I’m a little newer in my parenthood journey, but look forward to advice/suggestions this group has to offer! I’ve been married for 6 years and have a little boy who is 18 months, and we are expecting our 2nd child in March!

What a perfect idea for a group! I have almost 11 month old twin boys, I am in the ‘trenches’ of teething and avoidance of naps but also the joy of first words and tons of giggles.

Yay, twins! Do twins run in your family? I’m a twin, but just have singles 🙂

Hello hello everyone…. just passed our 11 year anniversary in October. Have 4 small fries (girl – 8, girl – 6, boy – 5, girl – 10 months). Needless to say life is busy. I am at a very challenging point with the smallest. My first three were great sleepers from 6-8 wks on. My babe is not and it is rough going some days!
