If you are in Phoenix, check out Nami at 2014 N 7th St, Phoenix, AZ 85006. They have really great vegan shakes / mixes. We went for Sunday brunch - food is cooked next door at Green (which is supposed to be great, but they were closed).

Thank you for sharing @cathyfraser
A few members of the group from Rochester are headed out to J Selby's in the Twin Cities this Saturday 10/14. We've heard good things about them as well 🙂

So... my 14 year old daughter decided to try vegan in January. She’ll be in Rochester mid-month... good ideas for restaurants? Thanks!

Awesome. Good for her!!
Old Abe Coffee Co
Royal Indian restaurant
Tonic
People's food Co-op
Z-pizza was on my list but its closing this month

Any of the following restaurants will have great options:
1. Indian (Skip the Paneer, Butter Masala, tikka masala options. Ask for dishes that don't have dairy, lots of veggie and lentil dishes are cream and dairy free)
2. Mexican (Confirm the beans are not cooked in lard, and just hold the cheese and sour cream)
3. Greek (hold the sour cream/ yogurt) - My favorite is the falafal/hummus and veggie wrap or rice bowl.
4. Ethiopian (most non meat dishes are dairy free/vegan)

And if you are planning a trip to the twin cities:
J Selby's
Pizza Luce (vegan cheese)
The Herbivorous Butcher (Take-out only)
Gandhi Mahal (Indian)

Although I am not a vegetarian, nor vegan, I enjoy cooking vegetarian/vegan recipes from time to time. Also, love the restaurant suggestions on here as well. Thanks all!

In Rochester, we went to Hu Hot (Apache Mall) for lunch. It's a Mongolian grill restaurant where you create a bowl of noodles, veggies, proteins and sauces, and they cook it on a big grill. My vegan (for the month of January) daughter was thrilled. They provided a special colored bowl and they grilled her food, using two spatulas to "protect" her meal from others on the grill. And, many vegan options - rice noodles, all veggies, tofu. Most of the sauces were vegan as well. Service was great all well!

Hi Cathy! I met my parents for lunch at Hu Hot in Rochester when I was in MN for the Plummer Project. Great place. I love making my own bowl with my choices of veggies, protein and sauces! I also went to a Mongolian grill restaurant in Denver with friends. I have a friend who is allergic to seafood and they are very protective for those customers, placing barriers and asking her about which sauces she used, etc. Would assume Hu Hot is similar in that regard as well! Service at Hu Hot was great, even over the busy lunch hour!

Are there any Vegan Restaurants/stores in Rochester? I know that Herbivorous Butcher and J Selbys are vegan restaurants in Minneapolis.
