February 25th orientation in Rochester

Posted by Chelsie @chelsiegaspar, Feb 5, 2019

Hello everyone:

I hope you are having a wonderful snow white Tuesday! To those of you who have your orientation on February 25th in Rochester, do you know where the orientation will be held at? I had to adjust my start date and the new start date letter didn't contain where the orientation will be held at. I am assuming it will be held at the Charter House because that is where my original orientation was going to be held at, but I am not sure if the February 25th orientation will be the same or somewhere different. If someone could please verify for me if the orientation will be held at the Charter House or someplace else on February 25th that would be great. Thank you so much for your help and have a great evening!
Chelsie

@BRechtzigel can you provide verification on location?

Hi Chelsie,

I have orientation on the 25th and was told last week by my HR contact that it would be in Phillips Hall at the Siebens building on the second floor. I have no idea if they run multiple orientation sessions, so I would check with your HR contact.

Take Care,
Carson

I am a new nurse starting on 02/25 as well. I have not heard from HR regarding the location for Mayo Clinic Orientation on 02/25. @lgregory48 and @carsonrogerson, are you also new nurses? Thank you.

I am a physician assistant but I believe that the first part of orientation (7:30am-12) will be everyone together. If you click on the tab "New Employee" at the top, and then scroll down to "What to expect at orientation," it looks like we will be going over things like Mayo Clinic values/mission statement and the general welcome information. Hopefully HR will get back with you soon but it seems like the general orientation will be in the Phillips Hall in the Siebens building! Hopefully I'll see you there!

Hi! I am a new nurse starting on 2/25 and my offer letter says that orientation is at the charter house in Edwards hall. I haven’t heard from an HR representative about any changes so maybe there are multiple orientations..

I wrote to my HR contact yesterday to confirm the location. The update location will be at Phillips Hall while the offer letter had said at Edwards Hall. It seems better to contact everyone's own HR contact to confirm the location.

Hi,
I just called HR and was told orientation on 02/25 would be at Philips Hall in the Siebens Building on the 2nd floor. Thanks for all your help everyone.

Greetings Everyone,

I am sorry for all the confusion. I have answers for you!

Monday morning, February 25th, Mayo Clinic orientation will take place in Phillips Hall in the Siebens building in downtown Rochester. For those of you attending that orientation, I will be sending you a reminder email that will contain all those details, plus a map to help you locate the Siebens building in downtown Rochester.

Mayo Clinic Orientation begins at 8 AM, but if you would like to sit for your portrait on that same morning, we will have photographers provided at the event for your convenience. They will be set up and ready to take pictures by 7AM. We will also have breakfast ready by 7AM as well.

The program ends at noon. For those of you that are part of the Department of Nursing or the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, you will be going on to additional department-specific orientation for the afternoon. Representatives from the DON or DLMP will be escorting you to Edwards Hall in Charter house to complete your day. For people outside of those groups, I will be sending out a reminder email to managers to pick up their new hires at noon and take you on to whatever they have planned for the rest of your first day. If they have other plans, such as they intend you start in your area on a different day, I ask them to please share those plans with you so you will know exactly what to expect.

Please share if you have any other questions and look for that reminder email from me, which will be sent to the personal email address you provided.
