What are you reading?
I am a big reader and am always looking for book recommendations! @sportsmom and @amdow have both mentioned they are readers. Who else likes to read and what are you reading right now?
I am listening to an audiobook called "The Sender". It is a great book about a football coach that is struggling with a cancer diagnosis and very aggressive chemotherapy. He receives anonymous letters that test him and strengthen him during his difficult journey. The letters were actually written and sent to an NFL coach going through a similar situation, but the story around the character in "The Sender" is fictional. Touching story. I am probably 1/3 of the way through and am enjoying it so far.
Feel free to share what you are reading and why you would or wouldn't recommend it. All genres are fair game! 🙂

I re-read two of my favorite childhood books quite regularly: Are You There God, It's Me Margaret and From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. 🙂
I heard about this new book that this crowd may find amusing - it's called This Could Hurt by Jillian Medoff. One review says: "This smart, jaunty novel takes the lid off a small company's faltering human resources department to reveal intrigue and backstabbing that only intensify when the boss gets sick". Not that this HR department is faltering or backstabbing, lol - but it may be a humorous look into HR. I may get it on Audible, the article I was reading was about great audiobooks to listen to.
I have added this to my ever growing to be read list. 🙂
I just finished a sweet little book that I almost hate to bring up because I figure almost everyone must have heard of it already: "The Art of Racing in the Rain" by Garth Stein. It was an easy, quick read but contained quite a bit to think about--some wise observations and heartfelt perspectives on humanity.
I have not heard of it @annemeyer. Thanks for sharing. I need to check this out!
Has anyone else here read "The Art of Racing in the Rain"?
@transom I have. It's a great book from a dog's perspective! Tugs at your heartstrings as you know a book about a dog's life should!!!!
@annemeyer Don't ever be afraid to bring up a book, even if others have read it. Sometimes we miss the best of them and this is how we come across them! This book is a must read in my opinion! 🙂
Loved that book! You might also like Being Mortal by Atul Gawande.
Thanks, @sarahshtylla, I have added this to my list of books to read. 🙂
