@daniv what is your WHY?
I work to make a difference by educating and inspiring others. I love the challenge of facilitating change and growth in fellow employees. I love the "aha" moments!
My work gives me a platform to practice mastery of my skills and strengths and to be creative. I also enjoy the challenge. There is a sense of accomplishment helping individuals transform within one or many domains of their personal well-being, empowering them to see in themselves what they did not and instill in them a belief that their goals are possible.
I want to create an environment where staff want to come to work, because in return, if staff are happy, our patients will be happy.
The why behind my work is that, I enjoy the challenge of working, learning and making a difference in our patients life, its all in one job as Histotechnologist.
Why Do I Work? Most simply, because I enjoy helping others. I enjoy helping people find solutions that make their work easier and more effective.
Why be a Nurse – because I fell in love with helping others. Why work at Mayo – At first I was just happy to get a job, I had just moved to Phoenix and the job I moved here for fell through because of a hiring freeze. It took a couple days for the "Mayo" part to sink in. While going through the first week of orientation I realized that I was working for the "Disney" of healthcare. The history, the why behind it, the innovation, all those amazing breakthroughs that all started with one man. I worked for the Mouse many years back, and as an employee for both companies, you can see that the companies care for who works for/with them. They know that without the employees they couldn't do what they strive to do and that is why they try and take such good care or them. I have been blessed to work some amazing people, and it is lovely to watch the interactions, even when sad, between the employees and the patients.
I worked at Disney as well! 1996-1997 at what is now Hollywood Studios 🙂
I worked in store ops, I started in Disneyland and helped open the "new park". I walked around DCA when the ground was still dirt, hard hat and everything. I loved it and still miss it….sometimes.
Why work? I work because I feel a sense of self worth when I help others. I enjoy coming up with ideas to better workflows, working on projects to benefit patients, and I love to teach. I like feeling like I make a difference… even if it may not be to the world, as long as I made a difference in one person's day.
I love the people I see and work with
Why? I have the honor of working with both patients and my fellow employees. There is joy in seeing others find the answers they are seeking and achieving their goals.
