5K Training with Chad Fritsche - Week 1
NO MATTER HOW SLOW YOU GO, YOU ARE LAPPING EVERYONE ON THE COUCH
1. What are your strengths as you head into week #1 of your training plan?
2. How might you be able to utilize these strengths to help you succeed?
3. Who’s going to be on your support team as you start this training plan?

I am a week behind in starting, but look forward to getting going.
I learned a lot from your video - I love the 10% rule and the easy activities for before and after the training session.
Thanks!
To answer your questions for week 1:
1. Strengths - the desire to do more
2. Utilize strengths - capitalize on the desire and work hard
3. I need support of my family as doing this will require time. I also would love to find someone to do this with me as that is even better motivation. I will work on that. 🙂
Hi Treasure,
Thank you for taking the time to watch the video, glad you found it valuable.
Sounds like you are ready to work hard on this training and I have no doubts you'll be successful with that determination. Never too late to start.
Good luck this week your training and getting that support.
What a great way to get into running where your at. Ive been running for years now but forget sometimes where I started. I may be young but I remember when I joined my high schools cross country team. The first conditioning day we ran 1 1/2 miles without stoping and this was a challenge. By the end of high school I was running up to ten miles at a time. I don't say this to brag. The key for me was being consistent and having a community which was my teammates to push me.
Thank you for pushing us to keep going.
Thanks for sharing your story. It just goes to show that everyone has to start somewhere, no matter how slow you are or how far you can go if you keep working at it you'll make tremendous strides by the end. Good luck in your training, Brandon.
This makes me feel good, being on the beginner end of the journey. 🙂 Thanks for sharing, @brandonevans!
As I look forward into my training activities for the week, I see tomorrow is a cross training day. Can you suggest what that may look like, @fritschechad, for a beginner?
When it comes to Cross Training, you want to try for non-weight bearing exercises to give your joints some rest yet still get a great cardiovascular workout in. My top choices are: biking (recumbent, upright, or outdoors), swimming, rowing, or a good water workout. Hope that helps?
